Cascade is an uplifting song about the energy of nature.
I based the animation off the lyrics. I show some of the process in this video.
Humans don’t appear in the video, except for songwriter John Hickman personified as a singing mountain. There’s no real main character or story. Nature is the main character, like in a nature documentary. I was thinking about how humans often think of themselves as separate from nature, but actually we’re just as much a part of nature as any other species.
The animation features psychedelic jellyfish and sea creatures voyaging through the solar system.
It’s pretty weird.
