A hermit lives to paint his pet cats, until one night he passes out.
The cats must enter the world of the hermit’s imagination in order to save their owner’s life.
Prepare for lift off as our heroes fly through space on a psychedelic, audio-visual adventure featuring flying Pyramids and spaceship battles with planet-eating Crocodiles!
ANIMATIC / STORYBOARDS
In this video, you can see how the animation was planned at the storyboard stage! There’s some scenes that were changed from the animatic, but most of the ideas were locked in place from the start.
Animation Software
The animation was made using a variety of techniques and programs.
We used TVPaint, Adobe After Effects, Mandelbulb 3D, Photoshop, and Final Cut Pro.
The hermit was partly inspired by schizophrenic artist Louis Wain, whose cat paintings became more surreal as his mental health declined.
